Photographic proof that we are actually in Costa Rica
After much hassle, I've finally been able to upload some pictures. We've tried at 5 or 6 places now, and it's always a different problem. In one, the computer recognized the camera, but wouldn't let me upload pictures. In another, uploading would have worked perfectly, except when I plugged the camera in, the computer would only respond '?Que?'. So, without further ado, photographic evidence that we have indeed arrived in Heredia and are learning spanish, as some of you may have suspected a giant hoax.
My House
Ignore the bars covering the entire facade, its actually not a prison. People here seem very concerned with safety, probably a holdover from the massive civil war of less than 30 years ago and accompanying disorder.
Ty's House
Ty's house looks a lot nicer from the front, and apparently his family isn't as worried about invading hordes as mine is.
IPED
This is the school where we vainly batter our heads against the entire Spanish language. It's very nice inside, and apparently much better than their previous location.
IPED's backyard/patio
This is the patio behind the school, where we spend time between Spanish classes, hold the cooking class, and look like buffoons attempting to learn to Salsa.
My Room
Small, but adequate. Ty didn't take any pictures of his, probably so you wouldn't be subjected to all the roaches and squalor (which he introduced, the roaches having hitched a ride from the hotel Gran Imperial).
Enough for now, I must away to classes.
